Self Care

Today was my first day back to school after Spring Break, and I ended up falling asleep on the couch for two hours.

But Break itself was AMAZING. My goal was to unplug, to unwind, to restore myself and recharge my batteries as we go into the last quarter of the year as cases rise and we possibly return all students every day.

And so, I had a wild week of puzzles, books, naps, walks, Pilates three times, gardening, and very little talking. It was glorious.

Also, Emmy is settling in quite nicely:
Awww, they're buddies!

I'm making a secret pathway in between my hill gardens:

Books of Break:
Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger
The Need by Helen Phillips
The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemison
I Can Make This Promise by Christine Day
Pretend She's Here by Luanne Rice

It was super uneventful. It was super relaxing. It was exactly what I needed.

  1. That sounds like a perfect break. And I love the photo of the two cats snuggled up to you. Reminded me of my two, long ago. You're now on the downward slide to a vaccinated summer break. You can do it!

  2. Sounds lovely. I accomplished little that was objectively useful over break. But I think in these crazy times taking care of our sanity plus loved ones is most important.

  3. Your puzzles are awesome! Your secret pathway is awesome! Naps and reading are awesome! Your spring break was a very well-deserved dream. :) So glad to hear Emmy is settling in nicely. I did some yard work this past weekend and thought of you. Like Mali said, you're on the downward slide for summer break! <3

  4. Glad you had a good break! :) And I love your puzzles! I enjoy doing them too, but I'd have to get a tray or something to do them on, since our tabletop space in the condo is at a premium. ;)

  5. Uneventful is awesome when it comes to what is meant to be a break. The puzzles look lovely, as does your latibule (thanks, Cristy!). Looks like Emmy is settling in nicely :-)
