Is it not PERFECT?
It's not a unique metaphor, but I felt like this was the theme of 2017. When everything fell apart and we said goodbye to the dream of parenthood we'd been chasing for 8 years, and I just felt like utter goo. It was my chrysalis phase, trying to figure out how to reconstitute life differently. I love, love, love the butterfly metaphor for when everything goes dark and deconstructed. Eventually, you come out beautiful, but changed.
